A significantly faster, easier Zucoin wallet experience is on the way, built for everyday life while keeping the familiar reliability that users expect.

The Zucoin team is reshaping how transfers move, how notifications arrive, and how the wallet stays responsive when workloads spike.

It's a massive structural undertaking, but the progress and capabilities this will unlock are exciting.

All of this is happening while preserving two-factor transaction safety, self-managed wallets, easy backups, unrestricted access, and everything the Zucoin community already enjoys about the Zucoin wallet.

The result: less friction, dramatically quicker transfers, and an overall smoother journey.

What's coming

Here's how the next major Zucoin wallet upgrade is taking shape.

Near-instant transfers

Transfers are getting a major boost as the 90-second settlement timer is replaced with network-driven speeds that can complete in under a second, depending on load.

This overhaul rethinks how data flows and removes the timing system entirely—while keeping all current transactions valid so the transition happens seamlessly.

Push-to-wallet delivery

When receivers enable notifications, a transfer code can land directly on their device.

If notifications are turned off, the wallet smoothly falls back to today's copy/paste approach to maintain backwards compatibility.

Behind the scenes, new signalling channels coordinate who is ready for push delivery.

Less waiting, more control

With speeds accelerating, the wallet needs smart timing cues to confirm when a transfer is accepted.

Instead of a fixed countdown, the app now spaces follow-ups intelligently and lets senders exit and manually check on progress if the receiver takes longer than expected.

On by default, optional for power users

Plenty of advanced Zucoin users prefer the copy/paste method—especially when coordinating across channels like WhatsApp without alerts.

Push notifications will be shipped as enabled by default, but users can disable this feature and instantly return to the existing manual copy/paste transfer approach.

A lighter core

Popular push-notification packages can reach ~350k+ lines of code, far heavier than the entire Zucoin wallet and Splitchain network combined.

The Zucoin engineering team rebuilt this code stack, trimming it down to around 21k lines—a ~94% reduction that improves reliability, performance, and maintainability.

This was a complex undertaking, as each device vendor delivers push notifications in their own way.

Less friction for everyday use

Scaling products means designing for more user types and skill levels.

The faster, simpler, and more affordable something is, the more it gets used—a phenomenon known as the Jevons paradox.

These wallet updates aim to welcome more everyday users while cutting steps out of each transfer.

When will this Zucoin update release happen?

There are tons of critical reliability and safety considerations being worked on, so these changes, at present, are heading toward a later-2025 rollout—of course, pending further testing and development.

Is this related to the upcoming Zutopia update?

Zutopia, the Zucoin trading marketplace, entered offline maintenance sooner than initially planned to focus on major marketplace upgrades.

Zucoin and Splitchain are taking a different approach—rolling out changes in the background while keeping all current systems operational.

That's why wallet-to-wallet trades continue, even while the marketplace pauses.

Once the Zucoin wallet upgrades are live, Zutopia will complete a new integration that uses these faster transfer mechanisms to make its marketplace trading experience even smoother.

Will Zucoin go offline during these updates?

No.

Zucoin has been online and functional since February 2022 and will remain so throughout this upgrade cycle.

The team is preparing processes to keep the rollout seamless.

Do I need a different Zucoin wallet when these changes are released?

No changes are required on your side.

Your existing Zucoin wallet will update as usual—close and reopen the app when the release becomes available.

As always, make sure your Zucoin wallet backup is current.

Why are the Zucoin and Zutopia teams doing things differently?

They are separate teams with distinct products.

Zutopia is a third-party marketplace that integrates the Zucoin wallet plus Splitchain network.

Each group is following the rollout strategy that best fits its milestones, which is why marketplace trading is paused while wallet-to-wallet transfers continue uninterrupted.
