Typically, the Splitchain network only caches your most recent settled transaction.
Up until mid-2025, Splitchain used to cache the 2 most recent transactions for each user.
However, following years of real-world data and improvements to the network, an upgrade was released that meant the network only needed to cache the most recent single transaction for each user, after a transfer has settled.
When your peer wallet app verifies a transaction, it searches the network for as many proofs of that transaction as it can find.
A key rule is that it is not allowed to find more than one version of a "truth" (i.e. a transaction record), within the same time block.
If more than two such records are found for the same event in the same time block, it signifies a conflict.
This often means an attempt was made to spend the same funds two or more times within that same time block.
The network holds these conflicting transaction records until the user resolves the issue.
Resolution is achieved by the user performing another transaction that explicitly references their last valid transaction that occurred before the problematic ones.
Unlike some other blockchain networks that attempt to organize and order conflicts, Splitchain detects the conflicts and temporarily halts progression for the affected data.
To fix this, you need to initiate a new transaction that correctly links to your last undisputed transaction.
Once this valid transaction is processed, the network caches will then drop the conflicting transaction records.
