What are the main Zucoin decentralization factors?

The main decentralization factors in the Zucoin ecosystem are related to transactions, the Zucoin wallet app, Splitchain network nodes, and project governance.

When it comes to transactions, users of the Zucoin wallet app (a type of "peer"), conduct transaction validation among themselves, which is a form of decentralized processing.

Most of the heavy processing happens amongst peers within the Splitchain network.

Peers then send their results to the Splitchain caching network.

Splitchain network nodes only check enough of the result for the purposes of updating network caches, so that recent peer data can be reliably found by other peers.

This is the opposite of blockchain systems where the network does most of the processing and the wallet does minimal or no processing.

In blockchain systems, users usually wait for results from network validators.

The Zucoin wallet app, currently obtained from zucoins.com, is eventually planned for open source release, allowing people to fork it and create their own versions, which will decentralize its distribution and development, once system safety is ensured.

Similarly, the Splitchain network node software, also currently from zucoins.com, will be released to the public for independent open source operation and development, further decentralizing the network infrastructure after careful safety considerations and capability development have been achieved.

The next point is governance.

Governance focuses on who makes decisions and has influence over the project.

While currently managed by the Zucoin team, this aspect will also decentralize over time, allowing more of the community to influence decisions.

There is also ongoing release of public education and developer docs for API integrations to allow others to build on top of the Zucoin ecosystem, without needing to fork the Zucoin wallet app.
