What should I do if someone steals my unlocked phone with my Zucoin wallet on it?

This is a common problem with data stored on smartphones.

If someone gains access to an unlocked phone, they could potentially access your email accounts, reset your online account passwords, get 2FA codes, impersonate you, and transfer coins out of your wallet.

The best approach is to set up and prepare before such an incident happens.

Always lock your phone using a PIN code, Face ID, fingerprint/Touch ID, or other security measures when it is not in use.

Be aware that simple 4-digit PIN codes offer limited security, as scripts can rapidly guess them (10,000 combinations).

While not foolproof, using built-in authentication APIs, which leverage on-device security chips in some phones (like the iPhone's TPU or Trusted Processing Units), is generally stronger as it limits guesses more effectively.

If your phone is stolen:

1. Act quickly.

2. If you have a recent backup of your wallet, restore it onto a new or different trusted phone as soon as possible.

3. Move your coins from the compromised wallet, now restored on the new phone, into a completely new secure wallet before the thief has a chance to do so.

4. Use "Find My" services, available on iOS and newer Android devices, to attempt to remotely lock, wipe, or shut down the stolen phone.
