There are 1,548 areas of code affected, with 24,424 additions and 8,104 deletions.

Key areas like the recent transactions list and sender/receiver processes now leverage embedded metadata when available, defaulting solely to Zucoin values if none are found.

Every transaction in Zucoin Wallet v193 now supports metadata.

Metadata is extra information that is cryptographically verified and embedded inside of each transfer.

Purchase receipts and document proofs

What is a comparison price?

A "comparison price" lets users see their Zucoin balance relative to a chosen currency or indexed asset.

For example, if 1 Zucoin equals $10 USD, the comparison price is 10.

Provided third-party platforms support it in future, users could select from various options, such as:

Traditional currencies (e.g. USD, EUR, GBP, AUD)
Indexed assets (e.g. average house prices, vintage cars, collectible artwork)

How do I change my comparison price settings?

By default, the Zucoin wallet app uses Zutopia—the first compatible marketplace to provide pricing data via its API.

Users can customize this in the "Comparison price" settings (In your Zucoin wallet app -> gear icon, top-right of the app) by integrating third-party APIs that follow the specified format.

Pricing information: Zucoin's first tokenization use case

The Zucoin wallet app v193 release introduces pricing information as the first tokenized element within transaction metadata.

This simplifies price tracking by embedding it directly into each transaction, offering several benefits:

Are there any other "comparison currencies" supported in Zutopia, apart from AUD?

Not at the moment, but the Zutopia team is working on it and it's coming soon as part of their international currency support upgrades.

You can customise the 1-letter and 3-letter currency symbols in the Zucoin wallet app's "Comparison price" setting (in the top-right "gear" icon).

However, the data "source" itself only provides values in AUD.

When Zutopia and other third parties release additional comparison currencies, the Zucoin wallet app is already able to support it following this v193 update.

How often does the pricing data get updated?

The Zucoin Wallet app will automatically update the pricing data when the app is opened or periodically, as the app is used.

By default, the average daily sales price is retrieved from Zutopia marketplace.

Note: It is not a sole measure of the last sale price, but an average of all sales on Zutopia in the past ~24 hours.

To force the price to update, you can re-save the setting via the Zucoin wallet app -> "Gear" icon (top-right corner of the app) -> "Comparison price" -> "Save".

When will Zutopia use this new feature?

Zutopia is preparing an update and it should be out soon.

When third party platforms don't specify this extra metadata, the user is asked to pick a market price or custom price when they enter their transfer code.

Will it update the pricing info on my older transactions?

No. This feature will handle any transactions that occur when using Zucoin wallet app v193 and onwards.

A feature is coming that will allow users to set the price for older transactions, which will make compliance and historical record-keeping easier.

Trading in different currencies: What to expect?

When transacting with a seller in another currency (e.g. a European seller pricing in EUR while you're in Australia preferring AUD), the transaction reflects the seller's currency.

This mirrors traditional international payments, where buyers pay in the seller's preferred currency.
